The 5th Annual Spartan Athletics Golf Classic was an exciting and fun way for the Lincoln East community to show their support of East athletes and coaches. Thanks to the wonderful East supporters, the 2011 Classic raised over $16,000 to fund improvements for all East sanctioned athletic programs. Over 250 coaches, boosters, student athletes and golfers enjoyed a beautiful summer day at HiMark Golf Course. The generous support of all those involved helps create opportunities to enhance the participation of all East student athletes, helping them to develop the discipline and character that athletics inspires. Join the fun next June for the 6th Annual Classic!

The putting contest was won by Devin Kosmicki and Kevin Watteyne went home with a new Prairie Golf wedge from the win-a-wedge contest. The silent auction was a bigger hit than ever.

2011 Flight winners were: 1st place 1st Flight – Half of the team are East grads: Brad Hudson, Jay Hiatt, Nate Munford and John Swaroff. 2nd place 1st Flight, East High Golf team members: Brandon Kasl, Corey Labenz, Tyler Morton, Tyler Unruh. 3rd place 1st Flight, including a past president of the East Booster Board: Greg Tebo, Kevin Bryson, Jon Pedersen, Dan Caldwell. 1st place 2nd Flight – Team Linafelter: Robb Linafelter, Brian Linafelter, Kim Linafelter, Justin Kurtzer. 2nd place 2nd Flight – Mr. Goodcents Team: Jeff Barclay, Scott Ritter, Merri Jo O’Dell, Preston Marsh. 3rd place 2nd Flight – Team Bouwens with a couple of East alum: Jesse Bouwens, Randy Bouwens, Jerry Regelean, Gary Ahlers.
